SELECTION, CHARACTERISTICS AND SERVICE LIFE OF LABOR PROTECTION SHOES

When it comes to labor protection shoes, selection, characteristics, and service life are crucial aspects to consider.

First, the selection of labor protection shoes should be based on different workplaces. There are various types available, such as anti – smashing, anti – puncture, acid – and – alkali – resistant, high – temperature – resistant, and anti – slip safety shoes. For instance, in a construction site where there is a risk of heavy objects falling, anti – smashing shoes are necessary; while in a factory with sharp objects on the ground, anti – puncture shoes are a must.

The characteristics of labor protection shoes are diverse. Abrasion – resistant labor protection shoes are designed for high – intensity working environments. Their soles are made of abrasion – resistant materials, making them durable for long – term wear. Anti – puncture shoes can effectively resist the penetration of sharp objects, ensuring the safety of the wearer’s feet. Anti – static shoes use electrostatic protection materials like leather and rubber, which have good electrical conductivity to reduce electrostatic induction. In terms of upper materials, labor protection shoes often use breathable materials such as leather and mesh. Leather can provide a longer service life, and mesh allows air circulation in the feet, reducing stuffiness and odor. Some shoes also have waterproof and dust – proof designs, adapting to different working conditions.

The service life of labor protection shoes is mainly affected by the soles and uppers. Genuine leather uppers offer a longer service life but come with a higher cost, while mesh uppers have a shorter lifespan as they are not as well – fitting. Regarding soles, polyurethane (PU) soles have a shorter service life than rubber soles in the same environment, and they have relatively higher environmental requirements. A qualified rubber sole is difficult to break during its basic service life. It is recommended that employers with the conditions replace labor protection shoes every six months to ensure the continuous protection of workers’ feet.

In conclusion, choosing the right labor protection shoes according to workplace requirements, understanding their characteristics, and being aware of their service life are all essential for the safety and comfort of workers.
