There are various types of safety shoes. For example, anti – impact safety shoes are mainly used to prevent falling objects from injuring the feet. Their toe caps are made of impact – resistant materials. Puncture – resistant safety shoes, on the other hand, have soles with strong oil resistance, and their uppers are made of leather, fabric, sponge, etc., which facilitate users’ work. Additionally, there are insulating safety shoes and those resistant to acids and alkalis.
When it comes to the selection of safety shoes, it should be based on the nature and degree of hazards in the working environment. Safety shoes should come with a product certificate and an instruction manual. Before use, workers need to read the manual according to the usage conditions and use them correctly. For special protective safety shoes, after use, they should be checked and kept clean, and stored in a pollution – free and dry place.
In terms of the anti – puncture standard, according to the national standard GB21148 – 2007 “Industrial safety shoes”, safety shoes should be able to withstand a puncture force of 1100N. That means they can withstand the puncture of a steel needle with a diameter of 4mm without being penetrated, effectively protecting the feet from being stabbed by sharp objects.
